“We did a remodel which included our kitchen. Our contractor procured a countertop from J. Aaron. We and they had issues with the original contractor. When our new contractor went to install it, we found it to be warped and cracked. We reached back out to J. Aaron and explained the situation, and they were unbelievably responsive. They offered to make a new countertop for us for just the cost of materials. We were ecstatic as the issue with the original counter rested with the contractor and in today's day and age of self-interest, there are very few companies that would do what they did. The new counter top arrived and was installed and looks beautiful. I would highly recommend them just on the quality product that they delivered. When we combine that with how they dealt with us, they get a five-star +++ rating. I strongly encourage anyone interested in a new wood countertop to make J. Aaron their first and last call!!!!”

“Building a new home during the pandemic has been among the more stressful and trying experiences of my life. Labor shortages, backordered products, material shortages, and unexpected delays have been a constant. Working with J Aaron, however, was truly a fantastic and easy process. After scouring the web for reputable butcher block companies, I opted to visit J Aaron's offices in person to see some of their work and options. My daughter and I were personally greeted by the owner, Joshua, who gave us a thorough explanation of the various woods, techniques, and customizations available for these functional pieces of art. After settling on my choice of wood, Sapele, I proceeded to work with the sales manager, Deborah, who is Joshua's mother, to determine all the fine details. Through numerous phone calls and emails, she was a warm guiding personality who noted all of my preferences and even suggested several options to help me to save some money! The amount of time and care she took with me was so refreshing and greatly appreciated. Two weeks later, my butcher block countertops were ready and installed by Alfredo, Joshua's father-in-law. Like the rest of the people at J Aaron, he made sure that my countertops were installed PERFECTLY! Now, I cannot walk past them and not be in awe over how beautiful and well-built they are. “I bought one of the "stock slabs" (4' x 10') to re-do my kitchen island. I did a simple edge treatment as well as cut in for a farmhouse sink. The end product is beautiful. The stock slab was of very high quality and the finish was perfect. I used the suggested Monocoat finish (this stuff is absolutely the best) and I really don't think this top could be better (most suppliers were 2x-4x the cost). If you have a little "DYI" in ya, I highly recommend the stock sizes, but if not, J. Aaron can do everything for ya!!”

“A few months ago I purchased an unfinished walnut countertop from Jarron Countertops. We were going back and forth on whether or not to purchase a finished or unfinished top. Debra, our sales associate, told us how easy it was to finish ourselves and it was. The top turned out beautiful. Unfortunately after being installed for only 2 months the glue started to separate. When I contacted Jarron they advised me that since I had purchased an unfinished top there was no warranty. Even though their website states the "will make it right quantee" It doesn't cover their craftsmanship on an unfinished top. Well now we know why there is no warranty on unfinished tops. Jarron obviously is aware of the problems with their unfinished countertops. Otherwise why wouldn't they guarantee them! When deciding to purchase a specialty piece like this I would definitely not purchase from Jarron Countertops. When their craftsmanship is sub par that is where the "will make it right guarantee" ends!”

Knowing that this countertop would take center stage in the kitchen--as both a prominent design element and a well-used workspace--I undertook a very careful search for the best product. As an architect specializing in custom residential work, I put a great deal of thought into every design decision, and this one was especially important to me. I couldn't be happier with my choice. The countertop is substantial--heavy and thick--has a wonderful grain pattern and a warm honey color. It bears some subtle markings from its previous life that give it character and interest. It has certainly lived up to my expectations in terms of performance and appearance. Guests seeing the new kitchen for the first time almost always point out the beautiful wood countertop. The matte Rubio Monocoat finish is superb. It stands up nicely to food prep and glasses dripping with condensation. I should also mention the excellent customer service and reasonable prices. “We bought 2 hickory counter tops, one 14' another 10', both turned out beautiful. We did the self finish and install. The self finish was more effort then we guessed and I feel for most folks you are better off having them finish and put the 2 part finish on. Self install is easier. Drill pilot hole drill bigger hole in the mount ear, use 1.5" drywall screws. This was a design and decor decission to go with wood vs cost. We are happy with the end result and wood look. J Aaron are tops in their product!”

“While we were initially excited about the project, there are 2 main reasons why we would NOT recommend J Aaron and would never work with them again: 1. They do not put attention to detail: - They ignored instructions for the sink cutout and even though I repeatedly stated both i our drawings and email/phone conversations that we needed a top-mount opening, they still cut the countertop for undermount installation which we had to correct ourselves - even though we paid them to cut it according to instructions - They ignored my request to do a custom engraving on the cutting board they offer with the countertop and put our last name - They provided incomplete information regarding shipping which caused a delay in delivery and extra costs in labor for us since we had to hire a crew twice dur to inaccurate schedule 2. They do not take responsibility for their product or mistakes: - Even though the above issues were clearly their error or oversight, J Aaron never offered to make it right - When asked why the production drawing they provided had incorrect dimensions for the sink opening despite clear instructions for top-mount installation, the President of the company replied: "I can't really say. You are probably right. I do undermount on virtually all the tops so that may have been what I was thinking." They provided really good advice on which finish to use and when we received the tops, they looked great. But the fact that we had to correct the job we paid for ruined the experienced. Added to it is the fact that we know if something ever happens, like a crack we already see by the sink, J Aaron will not stand behind their products and services to take any responsibility for it. So keep in mind that the product comes with no real customer service or warranty. Once you submit payment, you're on your own. Unless you're willing to check on every single detail of the process and essentially act the professional this company claims to be, then we recommend choosing a different maker.”

“We had ordered a wood top for one of our customers, from another fabricator. It took several weeks for the countertop to arrive, and when it did it was the wrong wood species. The reorder would take 4 weeks, or more, to be fabricated and arrive at our showroom. We were now under a time constraint, but that fabricator wouldn't "rush" the new top. So, I contacted Joshua at J. Aaron, and he offered to manufacture a new top for us, same specs, but in only 2 weeks! This was a special situation, with a tight lead time. But, J. “The first thing that comes to mind is Joshua did a fantastic job. I credit myself with giving accurate dimensional information for him to work with, but the DIY (Do it yourself) project came out perfect. It’s actually flawless! The wood just blends with our lifestyle, very simple, but extremely elegant. The product has now been installed for about 2 months and we like it more each day. To be honest, we’re still cautious of what we lay down on top of it because it looks like fine furniture, but to date it’s wearing like iron (granite even). The process was fairly easy, Joshua responded quickly and in depth to all our questions and concerns. The DIY process was easy for us for we have the facilities to work with all the counters laid out at once. Sanding with the orbital sander we bought from Home Depot handled and operated with no difficulty. Pati did all the sanding and finishing, I provided the manpower to turn and flip each piece as needed. The (2) toughest parts of the project were: •Unloading the truck – ours was more difficult than most for Joshua also made us a 6’ round 2.5” thick table that alone was +/-250lbs and it all came on a 18 wheeler with a lift gate. The trucking company was very helpful in unloading it. (3 men + driver.) •Getting the sucker in the house. Luckily it was round and we rolled it up to the house and up the steps thru the doorway on a card board track we laid out. Bottom line….. We absolutely love our kitchen counter tops.
